Twilight of Mankind

Sometimes I think that now is the twilight of mankind. That when the history of man is written this will be our twilight.

Of course, in a classically self-centered and revisionist view of history, mankind will probably be seen as the primitive precursor to the advancements of the future. But were history written from our perspective, now may be the twilight.

I captured this photo as a snapshot of that twilight. The electrical, chemical, social, and biological reactions that make hitting a ball over a net such an enjoyable activity may themselves become extinct in the next two-hundred years. The future beings will look back and wonder what we were doing or how we found such pleasure in such simplicity.

Life is simple. Enjoy the fading sunlight of mankind.
